Stem cell cure for blindness tested – BBC News




Surgeons in London have used human embryonic stem cells in a pioneering try to cure blindness. Cells derived from a donated early embryo have been implanted into the retina of a 60-year-outdated lady with age-associated macular degeneration – the commonest reason behind blindness within the UK.
